Walking down the aisle to your loved one is like floating on the melody around you. At first, your heart pounds as a father or someone that has been your safety walks you, and then you see the future and most else falls from view. That song around you will be the backdrop to the memory every time you reflect on it for the years to come. So should it be a classic or a song that is rarely played? The decision is yours and classic is classic for a reason. Here, though, are the newer songs people are walking down the aisles to.
A Thousand Years
Oh, you guessed this one? The same song in Twilight that Bella walked down to. Ever since that movie, we have heard that song at Peacock River Ranch about 25% of the time and I must say I’m not sick of it. The song was written by Christina Perri and became the definition of the love between Edward and Bella.
If anyone embodies the love songs of the last years, and into the next ones, it is Ed Sheeran. Everytime his voice hits you your skin sings with the feeling of it. I love his lyrics and they truly honor women and relationships. Lyrics that are part of marriage, “Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know.
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I’ll share her home. I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets. To carry love, to carry children of our own”.
A Little More Classic:
These songs are not 2018 but they are songs that will carry far past it.
You are the Best Thing
If you want trumpets to literally scream and shout with your love then go with this celebratory song. This song can be played as the last song as you leave or it can be played at any time you wish. Although it is played often at weddings I think it would be a fun twist to walk down the aisle to it.
Let’s just say that some songs need to make every list. Songs that speak to us all on a level of beauty and sacred feelings. Feel praised by words as you walk down the aisle with this beauty.
